The 2015-2020 Ford F-250 F-350 6.7 Diesel Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor is a critical component of your vehicle's engine management system. Installation Instructions:
- Ensure that the engine is cool and has not been running for at least 30 minutes prior to installation.
- Locate the exhaust gas temperature (EGT) sensor on the exhaust pipe.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the EGT sensor by pressing down on the locking tab and pulling the connector apart.
- Use a wrench to loosen and remove the EGT sensor from the exhaust pipe.
- Clean the threads on the new EGT sensor and apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the threads.
- Thread the new EGT sensor into the exhaust pipe and tighten it to the specified torque value, typically around 15-20 ft-lbs.
- Reconnect the electrical connector to the EGT sensor.
- Clear any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) that may have been stored in the vehicle's computer by using a scan tool or disconnecting the battery for a few minutes.
- Start the engine and verify that there are no warning lights illuminated on the dashboard.
