This Genuine New Rear Suspension Alignment Camber / Toe Lateral Link Arm is designed to fit 2012-2018 Ford Explorer models with front-wheel drive (FWD) only. It is a brand new OEM part, sold in the manufacturer's packaging, and is not an aftermarket product. This lateral link arm is an essential component of the rear suspension system that connects the suspension to the vehicle frame, providing support and stability while allowing for proper alignment adjustments.
Installation Instructions:
To replace the old lateral link arm with the new one, you will need a socket set, a torque wrench, and a ball joint separator. The skill level needed for this job is intermediate, and it should take about 2-3 hours to complete.
- Jack up the rear of the vehicle and support it on jack stands.
- Remove the rear wheels.
- Use the ball joint separator to separate the lateral link arm from the rear wheel knuckle.
- Remove any retaining clips or bolts that hold the lateral link arm in place.
- Remove the old lateral link arm from the vehicle.
- Insert the new lateral link arm into place and align it with the mounting points on the vehicle.
- Attach any retaining clips or bolts to the new lateral link arm.
- Use the torque wrench to tighten all bolts and nuts to the manufacturer's recommended torque specifications.
- Reattach the lateral link arm to the rear wheel knuckle using the ball joint separator.
- Replace the rear wheels and lower the vehicle.
