Replacing the 2004-2009 Kia Spectra Driver Door Control Inner Handle Cable requires the following tools:
- Flathead screwdriver
- Phillips screwdriver
- Pliers
Skill Level: Intermediate
Step 1: Remove the door panel Using a flathead screwdriver or a panel removal tool, carefully remove the door panel from the driver side door of the Kia Spectra. This will provide access to the inner door components.
Step 2: Disconnect the old cable Using pliers, carefully disconnect the old cable from the inner door handle mechanism. This may require removing any clips or fasteners holding the cable in place.
Step 3: Disconnect the old cable from the control module Using a Phillips screwdriver, disconnect the old cable from the control module located inside the door. This will require removing any screws or clips holding the module in place.
Step 4: Install the new cable Install the new cable in the location where the old cable was located. Connect the new cable to the inner door handle mechanism and the control module. Be sure to properly align any clips or fasteners to hold the cable securely in place.
Step 5: Reinstall the door panel Carefully reinstall the door panel in the reverse order in which it was removed. Make sure all clips and fasteners are properly aligned and securely in place.
Step 6: Test the new cable Test the new cable by using the inner door handle to open and close the driver side door. Ensure that the door opens and closes smoothly and without issue.
